Do Hard Things!

The Holy Spirit whispered to me, “Do hard things.”

I’m like..OK!

I ignored it!

Like most human beings do lol.

Don’t judge me and act like you’ve never done that before.

Then the Holy Spirit said it louder this time.

DO HARD THINGS!

I’m like…Do hard things?! What does that mean?

…..

I ignored it one more time and then the Holy Spirit said it again and again until I finally listened.

I started thinking to myself like what hard things can I do today.

I can do a hard workout – CHECK!

I can choose to start a conversation with someone on Threads that may not believe in God – CHECK!

I can even be bolder in my faith in general – WORKING ON IT!

But I still didn’t know what He meant.

So, I went to God in prayer about it.

God was silent.

I’m like, “OH BROTHER!”

The silent treatment was not needed.

…..

I waited and I waited for God to tell me what he meant by it.

You know sometimes God doesn’t tell us right off the bat.

He uses dreams, visions, and He allows the Holy Spirit to work through others to relay a message.

Well all that happened.

God gave me all the signals that my big heart desired.

And you know what I did?!

Acted like I didn’t hear it.

I was being so stubborn because I’m like, “God, I need to hear it clear and plain.”

I know he was shaking his head at me the whole time.

Like… “Woman, how many signs can I give you before you understand what it is I want you to do?”

…..

Man! We sure are stubborn, aren’t we?!

He puts it in plain letters for us and we still need more…

More answers…

More details…

I find that to be super funny on our part..

…..

Then, we wonder why God goes silent again.

How ironic as we sit and say why is God not listening to me.

Because we chose not to listen to Him in the first place.

…..

I’ve learned that when God gives you a word, ACT ON IT!

Because not doing what He told you to do the first time is still DISOBEDIENCE…

James 4:17

Remember, it is a sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

1 Samuel 15:22

Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

Disobedience delays your blessing or removes it all together.

King Saul failed to do exactly what God commanded him the first time, so God rejected and punished Him removing his power as king.

…..

What is something God has been telling you to do but you are constantly ignoring it?
