Pet Lovers

Raise your hand if you have a pet..

Probably 80% of the people reading this post.

And I’m sure most of you have more than one.

We LOVE our furry friends, don’t we?

Even though they constantly get on that last nerve.

I call it the LAST LAYER OF SKIN.

So I’ll say, “Boy, they getting under my last layer of skin.”

When we first get them they are sooo cute..

But wait until they grow up.

In the beginning we don’t even know what we are getting ourselves into.

They become a real handful..

We don’t consider what all it takes to take care of animal. We literally just say I want one and forget about the rest.

The treats, the food, the dozen of toys, and the endless vet visits constantly draining our pockets.

I have a dog and a cat as you know from my first blog ever written, “Person Behind the Blog.”

Oakley, my miniature poodle, that is overly excited 99% of the time. And the other 1% of the time he is actually sleeping. This boy is literally a very high energy high maintenance dog.

Oakley, 3 years old
Oakley or Oak Tree – Miniature Poodle, 3 years old

I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.

But I quickly came to realization.

He has anxiety doing everything.

And I mean EVERYTHING!

  1. Separation anxiety
  2. Sleep anxiety
  3. Eating anxiety
  4. Walking anxiety
  5. Excitement anxiety

Must I go on..

He has the weakest stomach for a dog I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

Because of his weak stomach he is unable to eat kibble food.

He is on a human grade diet which he actually prefers.

He is highly sensitive to grains, gluten, dairy, chicken, and peanut butter.

Sometimes I think we are connected on a deeper level because I have the same stomach issues.

Figuring out what foods to give him was a PAIN.

I had so many unknown errors and sometimes I even caused him to get super sick.

It was the lack of knowledge on my part but when I found the right foods for him…

It was a GIFT from God.

No more throwing up or pooping uncontrollable in his cage.

If your dog is having trouble processing foods..

I RECOMMEND THESE DOG BRANDS:

Dog Foods:

Jinx Wet Food

Nulo Wet Food

The Farmer’s Dog

Dog Treats:

Wiggles & Wags

Nothin’ to Hide

Earth Animal

Dog Additives:

Native Pet

Cats on the other hand are SIMPLE AND COMPLEX at the same time.

They are independent but demand you to have their food ready on time.

They are also picky eaters…

How many of you can relate?

My cat Milo loves his dry food in the morning time and wet food in the evenings.

Milo or My Love – Tabby/Bengal Mix, 1 years old

And if you try to change it up, he will rebel and not eat it all on purpose.

He is like, “Stick to the plan Mom!”

I laugh at this because it feels like that is literally what he saying to me.

Milo does not have a weak stomach like Oakley but I still feed him the healthiest foods possible.

I barely said anything about my cat because he is sweet, loving, chill, and did I already say INDEPENDENT.

He lets me know when he is ready to be loved on and sometimes I just pick him up when I’m ready for a little bit of love. We totally understand each other in that way.

He doesn’t need a whole bunch of attention and requires little to no care.

All the foodies and treats that I provided were life savers for my pets. I hope this helps your pet and also helps you.

Observing your pet(s) and figuring out what his/her needs are will help you become more SAVVY and understand your pet(s) more carefully.

The reasons why I’ve chosen these brands is because of the ingredients.

I love seeing natural ingredients even human grade foods in my pet’s diet.

If I’m going to check the ingredients in the foods I eat daily, I’m also going to make sure that my pets are eating healthy ingredients as well.

Now that you’ve seen some of the pet foods and treats that I’ve given my pets over the years..

I’m curious to know what kind of food and treats do you give your pet(s) with a weak stomach or just in general?

Be SAVVY. Be YOU.

  1. I’ve been looking for a new dog food recently, so I will definitely look into these recommendations. I actually just bought the native pet additive so hopefully it helps my dog with a sensitive stomach. Glad to see others are loving it!
