Father God,
Thank you for allowing me to have a blog platform that honors your name. Lord, I ask that as your people read this post let them be open minded to what has been written. Purify their hearts and clear their minds. Let them draw closer to you and want to obey you. If they have any convictions Lord – let them not ignore them but bring them before you. Show them the path in which way they should go, in Jesus name, Amen.

Why drink something that could possibly lead you to SIN?
Why take that chance?
Do you honestly know for sure that you can have one sip of that drink and not suffer any consequences later?
And if you answered yes — Then, how do you know?

Why drink something that causes your body harm?
Alcohol poisons the TEMPLE.
Aren’t we supposed to be STEWARDING our bodies well?
Then how can God use you if your vessel is filled with something else other than the Holy Spirit?
Would you be able to lead someone to Christ if you were under the influence of alcohol?
Better yet — Think of someone that drinks heavily…
How would they view you as a Christian if you were trying to provide them with scripture on drunkenness but they aren’t listening because you yourself are drinking???
So, can you be filled with the Holy Spirit and drink at the same time?

Why do you need a drink?
What is the purpose or the reason behind it??
For Example: If you are frustrated and you say, “I need a drink.”
CORRECTION: You don’t need a drink — You want a drink.
So, doesn’t it have a stronghold on you?
Are you covering up something? Like, WHAT EXACTLY IS IT??

What happens when something catastrophic happens?
Can you be sure that you won’t use alcohol to numb the pain?
How can you be sure that alcohol won’t control you and become a coping mechanism down the road?
And I know what you are about to say — SELF-CONTROL…
But self-control only gets you so far when we are talking about something that can potentially lead you to sin.

Some of you say, “Oh, I can handle it.”
But you go out and sin.
You fall into temptation.

Why is it that churches offer grape juice instead of wine like the old days?
Have you ever wondered or payed close attention to that?

On another note, let’s talk about these alcoholic stores.
Specifically the ones that say — Wine & SPIRITS.
What spirits do you think it is talking about?
It sure isn’t the Holy Spirit because it would never dwell where evil resides.
So, think about that for a second.

And don’t think I’m judging you or condemning you because I’m not.
I just have questions…
And being honest — I had to pray to God to give me courage and boldness to even write this post.
And it is indeed a hard post to write but I must be obedient, courageous, and bold to what God says even when it cost me.

Because it ain’t about me — It’s about GOD’S PEOPLE.
Being filled with the Holy Spirit and having discernment gives you full access to knowing what God wants for you.

Just because Jesus turned water into wine doesn’t give you the right to drink it.
Here’s the kicker!
I follow Jesus so since he was drinking wine — “I CAN TOO.”
WRONG!
Let’s go over that scripture a little more in depth.
Jesus turning the water into wine (John 2:7) is not indicating that we can go drink freely.
There was a more deeper meaning behind it.
Jesus was revealing his glory and his disciples believed in him (John 2:11).
Jesus used this moment to show another miracle.
Scripture shows that he had his own priorities and wasn’t interested in helping his mother, but he did it anyway (John 2:3-4).
So, if you are using this scripture to go drink alcohol or wine then you might want to ponder on the text again using discernment, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding from God.

And I know that it isn’t technically sinning unless there is a conviction there.
Romans 14:22-23
Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right. But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.
Proverbs 31:6
Alcohol is for the dying, and wine for those in bitter distress.
I understand back in the day alcohol was used for celebrations, weddings, festivities, the dying, and the oppressed.
But I don’t see any other valid reason for poisoning our bodies on purpose today.

In the Bible several people abstained from wine and alcohol such as John the Baptist.
Luke 1:15-17
…for he will be great in the eyes of the Lord. He must never touch wine or other alcoholic drinks. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth. And he will turn many Israelites to the Lord their God. He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.
John the Baptist had a special calling and God knew that drinking would lead him away from that calling on his life.
STRONG OPINION HERE: Trying to drink in moderation is not good for Christians when we have a mission. Drinking becomes a distraction and we cannot win souls over for the Kingdom under the influence of alcohol.

So, my overall question here is why do we need alcohol or wine other than for sickness or oppression?
What good can come from drinking?
It isn’t food which is something that we actually need to survive.

I can’t conclude this post because there is so much more to be said but I believe that I have written enough to get the point across.
